OUR COOPERATIVE

Our School

Founded in 1976, English School Los Olivos is a British school offering Primary and Secondary education for children from the ages of three to eighteen.

English School Los Olivos is a well established British school, in Valencia, Spain, which is run as a cooperative of teachers. We offer a secular and pluralist education which embraces different cultures: British, Spanish and Valencian while teaching a full British curriculum and complementary Spanish studies.

Our education is based on responsibility, dialogue and mutual respect, focusing on all aspects of a child’s individual development in order to help them grow into socially, culturally and environmentally aware citizens of the future.

The school is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS). It is authorised as a British School by the Spanish Ministry of Education and all studies completed at the school are recognised as valid in both the United Kingdom and Spain.

Classes in all areas of the British curriculum are taught by qualified, experienced teachers. The students also study the compulsory subjects of the Spanish system: Spanish Language, Literature, History and Geography and Valencian. The programmes of study for Early Years and Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 cover the National Curriculum adapted to the needs and situation of our pupils. In Key Stages 4 and 5 students obtain internationally recognised GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications and are also offered the opportunity to prepare for Spanish university entrance examinations.
