✨ Year 13 University Visits – Exploring Their ✨ Year 13 University Visits – Exploring Their Future Pathways 🎓🌍

Today our Year 13 students took an important step towards their next chapter, visiting several faculties at the Universitat de València.

Throughout the day, they explored:

🔬 Medicine and Dentistry
🏃‍♂️ Physical Education and Sports Sciences
⚙️ Engineering (Burjassot Campus)
📊 Social Sciences (Tarongers Campus)

From the impressive Faculty of Economics to the dynamic atmosphere of the different campuses, students experienced first-hand what university life feels like — walking through lecture halls, discovering facilities and gaining valuable insight into a wide range of degree options.

Seeing them confidently standing on the university steps, asking questions and imagining themselves in those spaces next year was incredibly special. ✨

Visits like these help transform interests into clear goals and aspirations into real plans. We are so proud of the maturity, curiosity and ambition they showed throughout the day. 👏💙

At Los Olivos, we guide our students not only towards excellent academic results, but towards informed, confident decisions about their future.

The next step is getting closer. 🚀

✨🔬 STEAM Week in Year 2L 🔺🧠 As part of ✨🔬 STEAM Week in Year 2L 🔺🧠

As part of our exciting STEAM Week, Year 2L pupils have been exploring the wonderful world of 3D shapes and structures 🧩📐

Using cocktail sticks and modelling clay, the children transformed flat shapes into solid forms, building cubes, pyramids and increasingly ambitious geometric models 🔷🔺🟦 They discovered how edges, vertices and faces connect to create strong and stable structures 🏗️

There was fantastic teamwork 🤝, careful thinking 🤔 and lots of perseverance 💪 as pupils tested, adapted and improved their designs. Some structures grew taller and taller, while others were strengthened to make them more stable — real engineers in action! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

Hands-on learning like this develops spatial awareness, creativity and problem-solving skills — all key elements of meaningful STEAM learning 🚀✨

Building ideas. Exploring possibilities. Learning together. 💚

🌿♻️ Eco School in Action: Year 7 visit Bode 🌿♻️ Eco School in Action: Year 7 visit Bodegas Urbanas (Godella) ♻️🌿

Today our Year 7 pupils enjoyed a brilliant educational visit to Bodegas Urbanas, a local producer of organic drinks right here in Godella 🌍✨

It was a fantastic opportunity to see sustainability in real life — from the production process to the bottling and packaging line 🧴🔧. The students were fascinated to watch how the drinks are prepared, filled into glass bottles, sealed and organised for distribution 📦🍃

They also took part in an informative talk and presentation 🎥🗣️, where they explored:
✅ What “organic” really means 🌱
✅ Why local production matters 🏡
✅ How sustainable choices reduce environmental impact ♻️
✅ The importance of responsible consumption 💚

A hands-on experience like this helps pupils connect classroom learning to the world around them — and the thoughtful questions they asked were amazing! 🙌💡
Learning beyond the classroom, and learning to care for our planet. 🌎💚

✨ Exploring the Language of Technology ✨ Toda ✨ Exploring the Language of Technology ✨

Today we were delighted to welcome Florian Koch, one of our school parents and a professional web designer, who came into the classroom to talk to our pupils about programming languages and how websites really work behind the scenes.

Through simple and engaging examples on the board, the children explored big ideas such as:
💻 How data is stored in databases
🔤 How variables hold information
🧩 How code can personalise messages (like replacing a name automatically!)
🌐 How user interfaces connect people with technology

What made the session so special was how accessible Florian made these complex concepts. The pupils were fully focused, listening carefully and asking thoughtful questions as they discovered that coding is not just lines of text — it’s a powerful language that helps us build, communicate and solve real problems.

Experiences like this bring STEAM learning to life, connecting classroom knowledge with real-world careers and inspiring our pupils to see themselves as future creators of technology. 🚀

A big thank you to Florian for sharing his expertise and passion with us!

✨ STEAM Week in Year 3 – Exploring the Human B ✨ STEAM Week in Year 3 – Exploring the Human Body ✨

As part of our Primary STEAM Week, Year 3 welcomed two very special visitors: doctors Jorge López and Marta García, who brought science to life in the most engaging way.

Through interactive explanations, visual presentations and hands-on activities, pupils explored the human body — focusing on the respiratory and digestive systems. Using balloons to represent lungs and dynamic demonstrations to show how air moves in and out of our bodies, the children quickly understood that our lungs work just like expanding and deflating balloons. 🎈

They also discovered how the digestive system functions, learning how food travels through what they described as a “magic tube”, helping them visualise the fascinating journey inside our bodies.

The session was full of curiosity, thoughtful questions and wonderful moments of discovery. Seeing medical professionals explain complex concepts in such an accessible and practical way truly inspired our pupils — and who knows, perhaps sparked a few future doctors in the room!

A fantastic example of meaningful, real-world STEAM learning in action. 💡🫁🩺

✈️ Year 4 – Designing Our Flying Machines! 🚀

Today, our Year 4 pupils took their first exciting steps into the world of engineering with the initial design phase of their very own flying machines!

Working in teams, they carefully selected materials, explored different possibilities and began sketching their ideas before turning them into 3D models. Cardboard tubes, plastic containers, polystyrene, wooden sticks and recycled packaging were transformed into imaginative aircraft designs — from rocket-style launchers to winged gliders and creative propulsion systems.

Throughout the session, pupils demonstrated fantastic collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. They discussed questions such as:
🔹 Which materials are light but strong?
🔹 How can we make our aircraft stable?
🔹 What will help it move or “fly”?

This hands-on challenge encouraged them to think like real engineers — planning, testing ideas and adapting their designs as they worked.

A brilliant start to what promises to be an inspiring project! We can’t wait to see how their flying machines develop in the next stages. 🌟

This week in Reception we have been enjoying learn This week in Reception we have been enjoying learning about Chinese New Year 🧧🐉 and exploring how it is celebrated around the world 🌏✨

The children loved listening to the story of the twelve animals in the Lunar New Year zodiac 🐀🐂🐅 and finding out how each year is named after a different animal. We talked about how families prepare for the New Year and the special traditions that take place, such as giving lucky red envelopes 🧧, decorating homes with lanterns 🏮, and sharing festive meals together 🍜🥟.

In our classroom, we created a Chinese restaurant in the home corner 🍽️, designed and made our own lanterns and dragons 🏮🐲, and filled our own “lucky” red envelopes ✉️✨. Today we all dressed in red ❤️, a colour that symbolises good luck and happiness, which made the classroom feel extra festive 🎉.

As part of our Early Years curriculum, we learn about a range of festivals and celebrations from different cultures 🌍💫. Exploring traditions like Chinese New Year helps the children to understand and respect the diverse world around them 🤝. We celebrate these special occasions to encourage curiosity, inclusion and an appreciation of how different families and communities mark important events 💛✨.
