British Primary Education in Valencia

Learning in English while building the foundations for life

A key stage in which children deepen their knowledge, develop essential skills and grow in independence,
learning in English in a natural and progressive way.
All within a supportive, stimulating and caring environment.

Is Primary a good age to learn in English?

Primary is an ideal time for children to learn through English.

By this stage, they have developed the confidence and language skills needed to tackle increasingly complex concepts and ideas in English.

The language becomes much more than a means of communication, it becomes a tool for thinking, questioning and learning.

Our aim is for every child to progress with confidence, build strong foundations across all subjects and develop a genuine understanding of what they are learning.

Active and participative learning

Our pupils are encouraged to participate, ask questions and think critically. They learn by doing, exploring and making connections, rather than through rote memorisation.

This is how we teach

Beyond programmes and methodologies, what truly matters is the experience of learning every day.

It’s in the way children walk into the classroom, ask questions with confidence, share ideas and keep trying until they succeed.

In Primary, learning is about discovering who you are while making sense of the world around you.

Here, English is part of everyday life, not as an obligation, but as a natural way to communicate, connect with others and think independently.

These everyday moments reflect how we support our pupils during this important stage: with high expectations, genuine care and a shared love of learning.

Classrooms, activities and real experiences that shape our students’ daily lives.

What is Primary education like at a British school in Valencia?

Primary education is taught in English, following the British curriculum and using a practical, engaging approach.

Children learn to understand, express themselves and think in English naturally, while also studying the compulsory subjects of the Spanish education system.

Each child is assessed individually, although some prior knowledge of English is usually required.

The British curriculum is taught in English and complemented by the compulsory subjects of the Spanish system, including Spanish Language and Valencian.
This allows our pupils to benefit from an education that is recognised in both systems.

We provide continuous and personalised support, monitoring not only academic progress but also personal development, independence and wellbeing, while maintaining close communication with families.

We ensure that every child’s transition is gradual and carefully supported, both academically and emotionally.

Our aim is for every new pupil to feel happy, secure and confident from the very beginning.
