As part of their Science curriculum, the Y12 students designed and carried out a series of simple but fascinating experiments to help Primary pupils understand how people with colour blindness perceive the world differently.
Using coloured objects, matching activities, and visual tests, the older students guided their younger peers through engaging exercises that revealed the challenges of distinguishing between certain shades.
This collaborative project turned a scientific concept into an opportunity to learn through experience and empathy. The Y12 students not only reinforced their own understanding of how the human eye works, but also reflected on inclusion, diversity, and the importance of understanding others’ perspectives.
It was a joyful morning filled with curiosity, teamwork, and kindness — a wonderful reminder that science can open both our minds and our hearts.
