We are delighted to announce that this year we are taking advantage of our privileged natural setting in Valencia to launch an exciting ecological and sustainability initiative. As part of our commitment to delivering a high-quality education and fostering environmental responsibility, we are working towards becoming an officially recognised eco-school.
To kick off this initiative, Year 7 have begun preparing a wonderful school allotment where students will have the opportunity to connect with nature and experience the rewarding process of growing their own fruits and vegetables. This hands-on project will not only teach valuable skills but will also encourage students to engage in sustainable practices that benefit the environment.
Our vision for the space is to create a serene, eco-friendly environment where students can relax during break times, surrounded by nature. Their input will be key in shaping this space into a central part of our school’s green transformation. This project, along with other educational activities planned throughout the year, will contribute to our goal of achieving the prestigious Eco Schools Award. The process of earning the award takes two years and we will inform you of other events when they happen.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, we are encouraging all families in our school community to get involved. We invite you to collaborate and participate in this initiative by donating pallets, plant pots, plants, or old garden furniture. These items will be upcycled and reused to help transform the allotment into a vibrant, sustainable area for everyone to enjoy!
We believe this project will be a truly rewarding experience for our students, offering them the chance to learn in a pleasant, outdoor environment while developing lifelong skills that will serve them in both their personal and academic journeys. Together, we are building a greener future for our school and community.
