At English School Los Olivos, we recently celebrated one of the most iconic traditions of our region: Las Fallas. It was a truly special day in which our entire school community came together to enjoy a celebration full of creativity, culture and shared experiences.
In the days leading up to the event, our students worked enthusiastically on the design and construction of this year’s school falla, inspired by our Eco-School theme. Through this project, pupils explored important concepts such as healthy eating, sustainability and environmental awareness, combining learning with artistic expression and teamwork.
The celebration began with a series of traditional Valencian dances, performed by students of different year groups. Dressed in beautiful traditional costumes, they filled the playground with colour, music and joy, while families gathered to enjoy and support their performances.
One of the highlights of the day was the traditional xocolatà, which added a warm and festive touch to the event, bringing students and families together in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
The day concluded with the much-anticipated cremà of the falla, carried out under the careful supervision of professional firefighters, who ensured the event was both safe and memorable. Watching the falla burn marked a symbolic and emotional end to a project that had involved so much dedication and enthusiasm from our students.
We would like to thank all the students, staff and families who contributed to making this celebration such a success. Events like this reflect our school’s commitment to combining academic learning with cultural traditions and community spirit.
Learning, Growing and Caring Together.
