Last Friday, the members of the English School Los Olivos Mediation Team enjoyed a special end-of-year trip to San Vicent de Llíria, combining outdoor learning, teamwork, reflection and celebration.
The day began with a nature exploration challenge, during which pupils worked in small groups to observe their surroundings, identify natural elements and complete a series of collaborative tasks. The activity encouraged communication, cooperation and problem-solving skills while allowing students to connect with the natural environment.
The morning also included a variety of water games, providing an opportunity for pupils to enjoy themselves together and strengthen the positive relationships that are such an important part of the mediation programme.
In the afternoon, the students took part in a creative workshop exploring the connection between mediation and nature. Using natural materials collected during the day, they created colourful mandalas representing values such as empathy, respect, friendship, cooperation and mutual support.
The group then participated in a “web of connections” activity, sharing what they had most enjoyed throughout the year as mediators and discussing ideas for future improvements. This reflective activity highlighted the importance of listening, collaboration and continuous growth.
The day concluded with the presentation of the 2025–2026 Mediator Certificates, recognising the dedication, responsibility and commitment demonstrated by our student mediators throughout the academic year. Before returning home, the group enjoyed a peaceful walk by the river, observing the ducks and swans that inhabit this beautiful natural setting.
We would like to thank our mediator Desiré for her outstanding contribution to school life. Through her commitment, kindness and willingness to help others, she plays an essential role in making English School Los Olivos a caring, respectful and supportive community.
