Our students have shown their interest in, and concern for, climate change through their participation in various events at school. Throughout the week we dealt with the issue of climate change in classes and assemblies. Our students shared their ideas on the problem and worked on various proposals on how they can help.
On Friday, September 27th, at 12 noon, timed to coincide with the acts carried out throughout the whole country, the primary students marched with their teachers to the secondary school carrying banners they had made protesting about climate change. Once in secondary, all the students together joined together to form the word “Now!” to indicate that it is urgent to act. Then the Year 11 students read a series of proposals for us all to follow in order to try to curb climate change. Finally, the students and teachers walked with their banners and chants around the block.
We are pleased with the implication and conviction with which the students have dealt with this issue, and we hope that we all continue to be conscious of and truly committed to this cause.
