This week, our Nursery and Reception pupils took part in a wonderful outdoor art workshop led by a visiting British artist from The Craft Garden.
Set in our natural school environment, the session offered a rich and stimulating sensory experience where children were encouraged to explore, experiment and create freely. Through a variety of hands-on activities — including water play, mixing stations, clay modelling, painting and large-scale collaborative artwork — pupils engaged with different textures, materials and colours in a meaningful and playful way.
The workshop was carefully designed to support key areas of Early Years development, fostering creativity, fine motor skills, communication and collaboration. It also provided an opportunity for children to connect with nature while expressing themselves artistically in an open and inspiring setting.
It was a joy to see our youngest learners so engaged, curious and enthusiastic throughout the session. Experiences like this are a fundamental part of our approach to learning, where creativity, exploration and wellbeing go hand in hand.
