Life at English School Los Olivos

Where learning comes to life

School life is an essential part of our educational approach.

Every activity, celebration and trip is designed to support our students’ personal, social and academic development.

Learning beyond the classroom

School is about so much more than lessons and timetables.

It’s where students build friendships, discover new interests, learn to work together and grow in confidence.

At Los Olivos, learning doesn’t stop when lessons end. It continues through experiences that make school meaningful, memorable and enjoyable.

Every activity, celebration and project is carefully planned—not as an extra, but as an important part of a well-rounded education.

Educational trips that bring learning to life

Every year group takes part in trips linked to what students are learning in the classroom or to the rich cultural opportunities around us.

These experiences give real-world context to their studies and inspire curiosity.

In Secondary, students also enjoy cultural trips to other cities in Spain, such as Madrid and Seville, as well as European destinations including London and Berlin.

These experiences encourage independence, teamwork and a broader understanding of the world around them.

Celebrations that create lasting memories

Throughout the year, we celebrate occasions that students eagerly look forward to, including: Halloween, Christmas, Fallas, Year 13 Graduation.

These celebrations give students the opportunity to participate, collaborate and create memories together, strengthening their sense of belonging to the school community.

The School Fair

At the end of May, we hold our annual School Fair—a special afternoon that brings together students, families and staff in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

The fair also has a charitable focus, with students actively involved in fundraising for social projects and charitable organisations.

Over the years, we have supported organisations such as Ayuda en Acción, Médecins Sans Frontières, Sonrisas de Bombay, ACEEM and Amnesty International.

These experiences help students understand the importance of giving back and making a positive difference in the world.

Sports Day

At the end of the academic year, we celebrate Sports Day, when students of all ages come together to take part in a wide range of sporting activities.

The focus is not on winning, but on participation, teamwork and enjoying the experience together, reinforcing values such as cooperation, respect and perseverance.

Themed days

Throughout the year, we celebrate special themed days, including: World Book Day, World Water Day, Tree Day.

Each year group takes part in activities related to the theme and later shares their work with the wider school community.

On some occasions, we also welcome NGOs, institutions and guest speakers who share their experiences and inspire our students.

Residential trips and school camps

From Year 1 to Year 8, students take part in residential trips accompanied by school staff.

These experiences, often centred around outdoor activities and time in nature, encourage independence, teamwork and friendships that many students remember for years to come.

The Summer Concert

At the end of the school year, Primary and Secondary students come together for our Summer Concert.

Students have the opportunity to share their musical talents with classmates and families, performing individually, in groups or as whole classes.

It is a special occasion that encourages confidence, creativity and self-expression.

More than lessons…

A school experience that supports every stage

Everything that happens beyond the classroom also plays an important role in education.

Shared experiences, celebrations and projects help shape students into confident, curious and caring young people.

That’s why life at English School Los Olivos is such an important part of who we are.
