At English School Los Olivos, we strongly believe in the importance of learning beyond the classroom. Our Year 3 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic educational trip to Sagunto, combining history, exploration and hands-on learning.
The day began in the old town, where pupils explored its historic streets and discovered some of its most important landmarks. This provided valuable context to their studies in Primary education, helping them connect classroom knowledge with real-life environments.
The group then made their way up to the Roman theatre, where they reflected on how performances would have taken place in ancient times. The visit continued to the impressive castle of Sagunto, where pupils walked along ancient walls, explored passageways and learned about the different civilisations that have shaped the area over the centuries.
Reaching the top was one of the highlights of the day, offering stunning panoramic views of the Valencian coastline and surrounding landscape — a moment that truly brought the experience to life.
In addition to the historical focus, pupils also took part in group games and a small drama activity, encouraging teamwork, communication and confidence.
This trip is a clear example of how, at our British school, we promote an active and meaningful Primary education, where pupils develop curiosity, independence and a genuine love for learning.
A memorable and enriching experience for our Year 3 pupils.
