As part of their Humanities and Art curriculum, our Year 6 students visited the historic Alaquàs Castle, a remarkable example of Valencian Renaissance architecture.
During the visit, pupils explored the castle’s courtyards and halls while learning about its history, architecture and cultural significance. The activity combined art, history and hands-on learning, offering a memorable educational experience outside the classroom.
The day concluded with a creative tile painting workshop, where students designed and painted their own ceramic tiles inspired by traditional Valencian motifs. This activity encouraged creativity, fine motor skills and artistic appreciation while connecting students to local culture and heritage.
It was a day filled with learning, teamwork and artistic expression — and the results of their beautiful tiles speak for themselves! 🎨🌿
