On Thursday 26th March, our Year 7 and Year 8 students took part in an enriching History trip to Xàtiva Castle and its surrounding historic area.
This educational visit provided students with the opportunity to experience first-hand the structure of a medieval castle and to identify the different defensive features they have been studying in class. Throughout the day, students explored the fortress, walked along its walls and towers, and discovered hidden passages that helped them better understand how such constructions were designed for protection and control.
In addition to visiting the castle, students also explored parts of the historic town of Xàtiva, gaining further insight into the cultural and historical context of the area. The impressive views from the castle and the natural surroundings made the experience even more memorable.
This trip allowed students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-life observation, encouraging curiosity, engagement and a deeper understanding of History. It was also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships and enjoy a day of shared learning outside the classroom.
