As part of our commitment to sustainability and environmental education, our Year 7 pupils recently visited Bodegas Urbanas, a local organic drinks producer based in Godella.
The visit forms part of our Eco School Project, which encourages students to understand the environmental impact of everyday choices and to reflect on the importance of responsible consumption.
During the tour, pupils observed the full production process — from preparation to the bottling line, where drinks are filled into glass bottles, sealed and prepared for distribution. They also explored how products are packaged, stored and organised for local delivery, gaining insight into the logistics behind small-scale sustainable businesses.
Through an engaging presentation and discussion, students learned about:
- The principles of organic production
- The environmental benefits of supporting local producers
- How reducing transport distances lowers carbon emissions
- The importance of sustainable resource management
The experience provided a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world practice. Pupils demonstrated curiosity, asked thoughtful questions and reflected on how sustainable practices can be applied across different industries.
At Los Olivos, we believe that meaningful education goes beyond textbooks. By engaging directly with local initiatives, our students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of their role in building a more sustainable future.
Learning, Growing and Caring Together.
