Today, our Year 9 pupils enjoyed a fascinating educational visit to San Juan del Hospital and the exterior of Valencia Cathedral as part of the Humanities topics they are currently studying in class.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to discover first-hand examples of Romanesque and Gothic art and architecture, helping them to better understand the historical and artistic features explored in their lessons. Guided through these remarkable historical spaces, the pupils observed medieval arches, stone carvings, frescoes and chapels while learning about the cultural and religious importance of these monuments throughout Valencia’s history.
The experience encouraged students to connect classroom learning with real historical settings, developing both their historical knowledge and their appreciation of Valencia’s rich artistic heritage. The visit also provided an excellent opportunity for pupils to ask questions, reflect on the evolution of architectural styles and experience the atmosphere of some of the city’s most emblematic buildings.
We would like to thank the guides and staff involved in making this educational outing such an enriching experience for our Year 9 students.
